Most companies have a design system problem but not a design system. They have a Figma file that someone made, that two people use, that three more have never opened, and that does not reflect the codebase anyway. That is not a design system. That is aspirational documentation.

A real design system is agreed upon, actively maintained, and directly connected to what gets built. It makes design decisions faster and more consistent. It reduces developer questions. It makes onboarding new designers and developers easier. It becomes the shared language between design and engineering.

We build design systems from audit. We start by reviewing what you have -- existing designs, the live product, your codebase, and any documentation that exists. We identify what is consistent (and should be systematized), what is inconsistent (and should be resolved), and what is missing (and should be defined).

The system we build includes: a token layer for color, typography, spacing, and elevation; a component library covering every reusable UI element with all states documented; usage guidelines for each component; composition patterns for common page structures; and documentation for both designers and developers.

We also design the governance process. A design system without a process for keeping it updated becomes a design system that is always out of date.
